BROWSER-SIDE
Image Compressor
Reduce image file size while keeping control over output quality. JPG and WebP usually offer the best savings.
Important
- Some already-optimized files may become larger after re-encoding.
- PNG is lossless and the quality slider does not work like JPG/WebP quality.
- For an exact upload limit, use Make My File Fit.
How to use Image Compressor
Quick steps
- Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image.
- Select the output format and, for JPG or WebP, adjust the quality slider.
- Compress the image, compare the output size with the original and download only if the result suits you.
Supported files & limits
JPG, PNG and WebP input. 50 MB source safety limit and 20 megapixel processing limit. PNG is lossless, so the quality control behaves differently from JPG/WebP.
Privacy & processing
Image decoding and re-encoding happen locally in the browser. The original image is not intentionally sent to a MakerCrest processing server.
